City of Belton
Sparta Road Extension
The Sparta Roadway extension located in Belton, Texas provided critical connection between Loop 121 and State Highway 317. This new 3,500 linear foot four lane roadway was essential to support a new City of Belton Fire Station and a newly proposed Wal-Mart Super Center. This project consisted of the new roadway design and a detailed drainage analysis and storm drain designs. As part of the design process, Archeology and Environmental Studies had to be performed, coordination had to be done for the new driveway entrances for the proposed Wal-Mart Super Center development, and TxDOT Highway permits had to be acquired. The project engineer provided all engineering services required for the initial site investigation, environmental clearances, right-of-way and easement surveys, specifications, construction drawings, bidding assistance and contract administration for this project.

Due to the rapidly developing area, this project had a short timeline in order to provide the necessary roadway infrastructure for the new Fire Station and new Wal-Mart development. The City of Belton was pleased when the project was completed within the required time frame and under budget. The cost savings allowed the City of Belton to provide additional improvements to the existing roadways within the area.
